How to get to San Sebastian, Spain
There are three main airports that can be
used to reach San Sebastian:
- Bilbao airport (BIO): 1 hour drive from
San Sebastian. An international airport with connections to
all major cities in Europe (London, Paris, Frankfurt, Brussels,
Rome,...). The most convenient one for overseas travelers in terms
of connections and air fares. A shuttle bus running every hour connects
Bilbao and San Sebastian for ~18 euros. Bus info.
- Biarritz (BIQ): 40 minutes drive from San Sebastian. Air France
flies to this airport, and some low-cost airlines such as Ryanair also

Biarritz airport. You can either: (i ) take a PESA bus to SS city (http://www.pesa.net/pesa/horariosBD/ctrl_horarios.php)
(ii) take the Regional bus service (http://www.transports64.fr) to Hendaye
train station (gare) and there a "Euskotrenbideak" (Basque railways)
train to SS city (http://www.euskotren.eus/es/viaja/horarios/tren)
- San Sebastian airport (EAS): 30 minutes drive from San Sebastian.
A small airport with domestic connections to Madrid and Barcelona. Iberia
flies to this airport. Convenient when a connection through Madrid is possible.
A taxi connecting the airport and the city should be around 60 euros.
To get to SS city by public transport you need to take bus E21 and the
trip takes about 1h.
