Time-Domain Dielectric Spectrometer

By using a time domain method, this spectrometer allow to extend the dynamic range down to equivalent frequencies as low as 1e-6 Hz maintaining both a broad temperature range and a high accuracy. Moreover, it allows to investigate in detail time dependent effects on the dielectric relaxation. (see an example below)

INSTRUMENT CHARACTERISTICS

The dielectric sample response is obtained by measuring the subsequent depolarization current of a sample capacitor to which a pulse shape voltage has been previously applied (transient current experiment). By means of this technique one can access to relaxation times as high as 1e6 s.
