The Dielectric Spectroscopy Laboratory |
|
Time-Domain Dielectric Spectrometer |
By using
a time domain method, this spectrometer allow to extend the dynamic range
down to equivalent frequencies as low as 1e-6 Hz maintaining both a broad
temperature range and a high accuracy. Moreover, it allows to investigate
in detail time dependent effects on the dielectric relaxation. (see an example below) |
INSTRUMENT CHARACTERISTICS |
The dielectric sample response is obtained by measuring the subsequent depolarization current of a sample capacitor to which a pulse shape voltage has been previously applied (transient current experiment). By means of this technique one can access to relaxation times as high as 1e6 s. Electrometer: Keithley 6517A
Temperature Control: Nitrogen-jet stream Quatro Cryosystem Novocontrol
